This gauge comes equipped with a 1/2" NPT male adapter fitting attached to the 6 ft. capillary tube bulb. If your engine manifold or thermostat housing requires a different thread size, such as 3/8" NPT or metric threads, separate AutoMeter thread adapters can be sourced from JP Racing.

No, you must never cut, kink, or sever the capillary line. The line contains a pressurized fluid charge essential for transmitting temperature changes to the gauge movement. Cutting the line destroys the gauge permanently. Any surplus length should be neatly coiled in generous loops away from high heat and moving engine parts.
